What do newtons have to do with a planet orbiting the sun?

Newton is a measurement of force. Planets, being of very large mass exert a very large force on nearby objects, a gravitational force. The sun being the largest mass in our solar system exerts a gravitational force on all of the planets in the solar system. All planets exert an, albeit much smaller, force on the sun. The same goes with the earth and the moon (You can see the gravitation force the moon exert on the earth by watching the tides). The newton was derived by Sir Isaac Newton, the man who discovered gravity, among other things. He was born in 1643, died in 1727. The newton is named after him, I’m not sure at what point that was.
