I go to Ferris State University in Michigan which is home to Michigan College of Optometry. I am a pre-pharmacy major and know several pre-optometry majors. So there is major is pre-optometry. Like pharmacy student’s you take the basic classes in order to past your test and get into Optometry school. Hope it helps. You can check school websites and see if they offer pre-optometry majors kinda like pre-med. If not you can major in biology, which is what my cousin did and she is graduating from Optometry school this year.

First, pre-optometry is not a real major. You can’t earn a degree in pre-op. Most of the time, optometrist will major in a science major such as chemistry, biology, etc. It’s not just limited to sciences, but you can pretty much major in anything like english, math, etc. It’s just advise that you do because you will be dealing with some major science areas if you decide to go optometry school. I’m currently majoring in biochemistry with a pre-op and pre-med addition. This is because I’m not sure if I want to go to medical school or optometry school. So, good luck.
