What do Pap smear results mean?
The results of a pap smear fall into three categories: Negative- Means everything is normal (but you should continue screening per doctor’s recommendations). Low-grade changes- This means you have some abnormality and should be screened again more frequently. This does not mean you have cancer. High-grade changes- With this result, you need to be referred for more tests.
