Thumbs down to Standardized Testing—There are Better Methods of Assessment by Rebecca Todd University of Delaware 4/28/2006 http://www.leaonline.com Between teachers I have spoken with and “Thumbs down to Standardized testing—There are Better Methods of Assessment” as my information for this section. Teachers overall are not happy with these tests or the way schools use them as a reference to how well the teachers are teaching. The elementary school teachers that I have spoken with feel pressured about achieving the best scores as well as what happens to the bright children that do not score well. One-fifth grade teacher that I spoke with stated that she feels confined when teaching. She feels bad that weather or not all her children get the topic she has to move on and hope that they pick it up on their own. In fear, the rest of the children will not be taught the info that will be tested on. In Thumbs down to Standardized Testing—There are Better Methods of Assessment by Rebecca Todd
