What do the terms secular and non-sectarian mean?

0

Secular is defined as worldly rather than spiritual, or as not specifically relating to religion or to a religious body. Non-sectarian means not limited to or associated with a particular religious denomination. Consequently a program that is secular and non-sectarian will have no teachings or dogma from any religion. This is a requirement (see page 55 of the School Act, Conduct, section 76, subsection 1 and 2) of all curricula taught in the public school system.
