What do wrestlers do when they unify 2 belts together in the WWE?
The last time that happened was when Chris Jericho beat Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock and became the Undisputed Champion. The WWF had possession of the WCW World Heavyweight Title and the WWE Championship, those were the two belts that Chris Jericho won and the WWF simply created an Undisputed Championship and dropped those two belts. Since this left the WWF with one top championship, but 2 television shows, the WWF/WWE decided that this wasn’t practical. The WWE Championship whose lineage goes back to the beginning of the WWWF in 1963 was revived and the World Heavyweight Title was created so that the WWF/WWe could have major singles titles on both Raw and Smackdown. I’ve seen title unified more often in other wrestling promotions, for example in the Original ECW, Taz created the FTW Title, because Shane Douglas would not wrestle him for the ECW World Heavyweight Title.
