What do you perceive to be the advantages and/or disadvantages of adoption agencies being abolished…?
Hi Annabelle, Honestly, I perceive only advantages. When profit is involved, adoption encourages corruption. ie…..more adoptions that occur more money agencies make. Money feeds greed and greed yields unscrupulous means, not a good mix in my opinion. Voluntary adoptions should be expedited in different means than abuse/neglect situations. The Mother should have the right and control to chose as she sees fit for her child. All adoptions should occur through foster care……….and the previous adoption agency workers could now work through foster care as well. Does foster care need reform?? Of course! Accountability Accountability Accountability………No child should fall thru the cracks and if it happens on your watch……you pay the price! I guarantee if the only way to adopt was thru foster care…..it wouldn’t take long for a huge overhaul to happen.
