What do you think about german politicians wanting ban violent video games?
There are a lot of psychological reasons why someone would be sparked to violence. A video game is only one of thousands of variables, and placing ALL the blame on the video game is simply misguided fallacy.It’s not that simple. And the German government is making a huge mistake by stereotyping an entire form of entertainment simply because of the actions of 0.05% of people that play. Video games are an entertainment medium, like music and movies and books. Who’s to say violent movies like Saw and Black Hawk Down don’t also cause people to go out on shooting sprees? John Lennon’s assassin and Reagan’s would-be assassin both read The Catcher in the Rye and considered it one of their favorite books. Does that mean the book should be banned? You can cite the same violence statistics for every other form of entertainment. Every form of entertainment is guilty on the same level as video games for producing violent criminals.
