What does a Contract Program Auditor (CPA) do?
Each agency is assigned one Contract Program Auditor (CPA). CPAs are advocates, not adversaries. They ensure that: • Services provided are consistent with contract requirements; • Services are of good quality; • Services are provided in an appropriate environment; • The level of services provided is commensurate with the amount of funds allocated; • Services are sufficiently documented to allow for verification of their occurrence; • Services are efficiently managed and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; and • SAPC requirements with regard to service documentation and management compliance are developed and applied in a way to maximize staff resources toward the provision of services. Contracting agencies are encouraged to make the CPA their primary contact when calling SAPC with a question or problem.
