What does a Mineral Engineering student learn and what do the students do throughout the 4 years?

Mineral engineers learn across the spectrum of Engineering Geoscience, from learning to apply geology and engineering to find new mineral and petroleum reserves (and if you love to travel and see great parts of the world, this is what you will want to do when you graduate!). You will learn to apply different engineering, geotechnical and geological knowledge in order to design methods to extract natural resources from the earth. You will take a combination of civil, mining and geology courses. When you graduate you may work on heavy civil projects [e.g. dams, tunnels, subway systems, deep foundations for very large buildings, etc.]; You may manage and operate the large mining operations [similar to extremely large factories] around the world. Details of all of these course options, and the course descriptions are given on this website, or to view our program curriculum directly, please Click Here.
