It is covered with fur and which may be reddish brown or greyish brown in color. The ventral side of its body is a shade of silver. Pygmy shrews are said to be closer to bats than to the mice family. They can be found in one’s garden under leaf litter or undergrowth. Most shrews have a distinctly long snout and tiny eyes.
