What does a Roof Plumbing apprentice do?
An apprentice Roof Plumber is involved in: • fabricating and installing guttering and downpipes on residential building roofs in accordance with blueprints and specifications • designing and installing roof drainage systems for specified roof types • selecting the appropriate stormwater disposal systems for use on residential buildings and installing them As a Roof Plumber you must be able to: • calculate quantities, areas, volumes, etc necessary for specified roofs from supplied plans • carry out measurements necessary for the fabrication of gutters and downpipes • fabricate and install guttering on residential building roofs, including various angles, stop ends and downpipe fittings • design and install roof drainage systems for designated roof areas • construct ductwork joints to prescribed tolerances • install appropriate stormwater disposal systems for use on residential buildings, with reference to factors such as roof size and rainfall, ground and soil type, existing sewerage/dr
