What Does a Surgical Scrub Tech Do?
Chain of Command A surgical scrub tech typically reports to and takes orders from registered nurses. These nurses take their orders from physicians and surgeons, and then pass along the requests to the surgical scrub techs. The primary duties involve preparing the operating room for the specific surgery procedure that is to take place. Once the operating room has been thoroughly prepped, surgical scrub techs will remain in constant communication with the registered nurses as well as the surgical team and its supervisory staff. Primary Duties Preparing an operating room for an operation requires a tremendous amount of time and responsibility.
