Treatment in physical therapy varies depending on the problem or injury you are being treated for. A typical treatment session may include the use of manual therapy techniques where the therapist uses his or her hands to guide your movements or to loosen up tight muscles and joints. The manual techniques that we specialize in are extremely safe. There are no high velocity "cracks", "pops", or quick "twists" utilized in other forms of "adjustments." Stretching, movement re-education, therapeutic exercise, and patient education are also key components of a physical therapy treatment session. Modalities including ultrasound, iontophoresis, phonophoresis, traction, ice, and electrical stimulation may also be used as appropriate. Our emphasis is getting you moving correctly and teaching you how to keep yourself healthy for the future.
