What does aided mean?
Fladbury First School is a Church of England Aided First School. There are two main kinds of church school: those which are controlled by the Local Education Authority (LEA), and those which are aided by Central Government and the LEA. The church has a greater influence in an Aided school, with a majority of church Governors (Foundation Governors) on the Board of Governors. Meet our governors. As an aided school we welcome support from the Diocese of Worcester Board of Education in matters appertaining to our buildings, the maintenance of which the school governors are responsible for. We enjoy the rental from the letting of the Old School House which is used entirely for the benefit of the school. The Governors are required to provide 15% of all building works and improvement costs, with the balance of funds being found by Central Government on completion.
