What does automatic, chronograph, and quartz mean?
A watch that is said to be automatic is one that is able to run on its own without the support of batteries. Many people like the idea of not having batteries, though the downside is that the watch will need to be serviced every few years. A chronograph are the little dials that actually are seen on the watch and can be used as stopwatch timers or date keepers. A watch that is said to be the quartz variety is one that runs on a battery and generally they do not have as many markings as automatic watches.
