• Your computer has a temporary holding area called the clipboard • You can use the clipboard to move text from one program to another • Select (highlight) text in one program and then choose the COPY command from the EDIT menu, the text will be placed onto the clipboard. Then you switch to a different program and choose EDIT | PASTE to get the text from the clipboard • The clipboard keeps a copy of the last text until it is replaced with another COPY or CUT command • So use your mouse to highlight some text on this page, then choose Edit | Copy from the menu at the top of the menu. The commands will be grayed out (disabled) until you highlight something • Now you can open a text editor (like notepad or email) and paste it.
