What does disclosing a business name mean?
If your business does not trade under your exact name on business stationery, shop signs, bank details and so on, you need to let your customers and suppliers know your name and the business address where you can be contacted. This is called ‘disclosure’ and is covered by the Business Names Act 1985. If your business is a partnership that does not trade under the names of all of the partners, you will need to disclose their details.
