EBC stands for Executive Business Communication because EBC started life in Madrid in 1995 as a language school dedicated to teaching business English to executives. The story of why it got shortened to EBC comes down to the first secretary. After several attempts at trying to say the full name, she politely asked to shorten the name to EBC. Since then the abbreviation has stuck.
