Q:

What does F.A.C.S. mean after the MD in the doctor’s title?

F.A.C.S. stands for Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. A surgeon may reach that elite status only if he/she is Board Certified in his/her specialty and after a vote by other members of the College. Only then can the surgeon add the suffix F.A.C.S. to his/her title indicating membership in this prestigious group. more
