What does General Occupancy Mapping really mean?
Under the Inventory > General Building Stock menu, the ‘General Occupancy Mapping’ option provides a table of distribution schemes available for this Study Region and which ones are currently being applied. First of all, the table is misnamed. It is a table of general building types and how those are distributed (mapped) , in percentages, for each specific occupancy type. For example, for each census block/tract there are x-percentage of residential single family homes (occupancy type) are made of wood buildings (building type). This table contributes to the different ways of viewing the inventory data as well as the analysis results.
