What does imminent danger mean?
A. Imminent danger means there is reasonable cause to believe a person’s life or physical, emotional, or financial well-being is in danger if intervention is not immediately initiated. This may include physical abuse (burns, open wounds, bruising, dislocations, etc.); abandonment; financial accounts being emptied resulting in the inability to pay rent, utilities, purchase food or medications, etc. Rule of thumb: if Adult Protective Services has to respond within 2 hours, it is imminent danger.
