What does implantation bleeding look like?

Not all women experience implantation bleeding, but if they do, it is usually light spotting that is typically brownish, and appears about 7-10 days after conception. It is caused by the egg burrowing into the uterine lining.

Implantation bleeding is vaginal discharge which usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about a third of pregnant women experience implantation bleeding.

I’ve been having light bleeding off/on all day. At first I just had a light brown spot on my pad and then when I wiped it just looked like brown water. (Not to be gross) Later I had very bright red blood on the tissue, but nothing on my pad and about 30 min later it was back to very light brown and hardly anything. It was off/on with the brown for most of the day. It’s about 5:00 and I just went I had some red blood on my pad, but I had some brown clumps when I wiped. Is that part of implantation bleeding. I really don’t think this is my AF, b/c I always just wake up and I have a clump of red blood already there.

I had implantation bleeding about 7-8 days after I ovulated, which would have been cycle day 25, with the first day of my last period being cycle day 1. This might be easier… I started my period on March 6th, ovulated on March 19th, and had implantation bleeding around March 26th/27th which was 1 week before my period was due. I started testing immediately and all tests came up positive(supposed to be too early, but for some reason it registered the hcg). The bleeding started out light pink, then turned to brown. I did this for 2-3 days, but only a few spots a day. With my first child I didn’t have this at all or maybe I just wasn’t looking or didn’t know what to look for. I’d say there is a good chance that you are pregnant. Take a home test. If negative and you still think you are pregnant, test again in 3-5 days. If nothing else, go to your gyno and request a blood test. These are very accurate at detecting small amounts of hcg in your blood.
