A8 – Recent studies by agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the American Lung Association (ALA) have shown that “air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air of even the largest and most industrial cities.” Because Americans spend an estimated 90% of their time indoors, it is now recognized that the quality of indoor air is a likely source for many health problems such as allergies, respiratory ailments and even cardiovascular disease. One known way to combat poor indoor air quality is regular carpet cleaning.
