Schleich has manufactured Smurfs since 1965 and is the sole manufacturer and seller of the Smurf figurines since January 1st, 1980. Before that date Bully, located in Spraitbach, Germany, was also manufacturing and selling Smurf figurines, and not necessary identical figurines than Schleich. Therefore you find figurines with a Bully stamp or a Schleich stamp. Bully had the exclusive sales of the Smurfs in W. Germany, Scandinavian countries and Canada during a certain time period. Therefore some collectors consider Bully figurines “Originals”.
