What does it mean to plea to “wet reckless” rather than DUI?
Depending on a number of things, a wet-reckless plea may be negotiated as an alternative to a DUI conviction. This type of plea bargain is generally offered to DUI offenders whose BAC was borderline illegal, no accident involvement occurred, and they have no prior DUI convictions. The result is a lower fine, no jail time, and no record of driving under the influence. However, if the offender is then later charged with drunk-driving, then the wet reckless conviction can be considered as a priorable offense.
