What does it mean vaginal pH balance?
The normal, healthy vagina contains both good and bad bacteria. Normally, the healthy bacteria predominate and they keep the vaginal pH between 3.8 to 4.5 levels. But sometimes, women’s are going through things that can cause the bad bacteria to overgrow. When this happens the bad bacteria “over controlled” and bacterial vaginosis (BV) may occur. With BV the vaginal pH is usually goes higher to 5.0 to 6.0 levels or even or higher in some cases. Overgrow of the bad bacteria can happen because improper hygiene, during menstruation periods, other risk factors for BV include a new sexual partner or multiple partners, tightens cloths, use of antibiotics and more.
