What does it say in the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 – Section 8?

0

The Asylum and Immigration Act makes it an offence to employ anyone who does not have permission to be in, or work in, the UK. To avoid making assumptions about such permission, it is the Department’s responsibility to ask all appointees for evidence of eligibility to work in the UK. More information about this offence, and the steps that employers should take to establish a defence against it, is set out in the Home Office’s document “Prevention of Illegal Working: Guidance for Employers” which may be accessed on the Immigration and Nationality Directorate’s website here.
