Teachers with at least three years of teaching experience are able to participate in the Math Recovery Intervention Specialist year-long professional development program. The program begins with five days of professional development with the goal of preparing the teacher to administer and analyze Math Recovery assessments, so that the teacher can then identify and select students for Math Recovery intervention. The professional development continues for five additional days with the goal of preparing the teacher to provide Math Recovery intervention. The professional development is supported throughout the year with on-site and off-site support in the form of facilitated collegial meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions. Teachers are expected to submit two projects that include written and video documentation with written reflections of both student and professional growth.
