What does Jazz mean in Utah Jazz?
It has nothing to do with Jazz. The Utah Jazz used to be the New Orleans Jazz where Jazz music is prominent, but never changed the name when the team re-located to Utah. The Los Angeles Lakers did the same thing, they were originally in Minneapolis, the land of 10,000 lakes hence the name “Lakers”. The team moved to L.A. and never changed their name, and L.A. is not known for having many lakes.
