An onsite Reading Specialist from IU 13 is available to assist students (primarily in grades K-5) achieve academic success in the classroom. The Reading Specialist works closely with the classroom teacher to determine the best approach to meet a student’s individual needs. Math and reading are the primary areas of focus, but other subjects (such as writing, social studies and study skills) may also be targeted. Tutoring for middle and high school students is available from National Honor Society (NHS) students and may be arranged through the NHS. On occasion, NHS students have also helped to tutor elementary students.
