Lead Free is not a requirement of RoHS, and it means “Has zero lead in the product”. RoHS requirements for lead are specified as limits of concentration within certain materials and industries. At Bourns the phrase applies only to the terminal finishes of our products. The glass used in the production of cermet elements and certain metal alloys may contain lead. These features are covered by exemptions to the initiatives and are noted on the appropriate Material Declaration Sheets (MDS).
