What does minor and major mean in college?

Your major is the field in which you will be getting your degree. That is really the only one that counts. A minor is just a field of study that you might have taken a few extra classes in. It is good to have a minor, so definitely minor is something, but don’t stress about it too much. My advice is to pick a minor in something that interests you, and if you don’t know what interests you, just pick psychology like everyone else. 😛 Most people just have one major, but sometimes people double or triple major. Doing so increases the odds that an employer will want to hire you, the problem is that you end up spending 5 or 6 years getting a bachelor’s degree. When I was in college, there was one girl who graduated in all three tracks of the English department: Linguistics, Literature, and Composition.
