What does scarlet fever look like?
To identify what scarlet fever looks like you will need to asses the symptoms as they occur. Scarlet fever has a progression rate of roughly six days. On the first day you should notice a fever, sore throat, and sometimes enlarged lymph nodes. The second day a bright red rash will appear on the face, and on the third day the tongue will appear to be bright red as well. On the fourth day the rash will begin to dry up and shed or peel, and may continue up to ten to fourteen days. You will also notice a gradual decrease in the redness and the bumps during this time as well.
