What does the admissions committee look for when making decisions about who to admit ?
An ideal candidate must have demonstrated potential to contribute to scholarship in the field of social work and social welfare. Decisions are based on academic records (undergraduate and graduate), an academic writing sample that demonstrates analytic ability, letters of recommendation, and other evidence of superior achievement and of interest in pursuing a PhD. We weigh prior research experience and professional experience in social work very heavily when making decisions.
