What does the bible say about giving back in life?
This reminds me of Jesus’ words to his disciples, shortly before he sacrificed his life so that sinners could be forgiven and given everlasting life. He said, “Greater love has no-one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.” (John 15:13-14) Jesus set the example here, and some people have been called by God to lay down their lives too. Another thought came when reading of the poor widow who put all the money that she had (worth virtually nothing) into the temple treasury. This account is in Mark 12:38-44. Despite widows being abused and taken advantage of by the religious leaders in those days (getting them to give their estate to themselves) this widow gave far more to God by casting in her two coins of little worth into the temple treasury. Jesus pointed this out to his disciples, as an object lesson in humility and in how God values whatever
