What does the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) do?
This is the outfit that advises British Industry on how to get the most out of it’s workforce for the least cost. These are the ones who advised opting out of the EU working hours regulations and employment laws thereby leaving employees open to exploitation over working hours, working practices and redundacy. They are the ones who complain constantly over the cost to industry of employees being off sick and having public holidays – even though we have the least holidays in the EU. “British Industry can’t afford the cost” they bleat – strange how the rest of the EU can afford more though! Not a word of protest from this bunch when British manufacturing was being exported abroad to the Far East to the point where we produce just about nothing and have to rely, ironically, on Far East imports to keep us going.
