What does the multiple choice portion of the online writing test entail?
In addition to the essay portion of the test, the online assessment will include a multiple choice component consisting of 25 questions covering the six writing traits. This new component will increase the reliability of the writing assessment results which is particularly valuable now that writing is a required essential skill for the graduating class of 2013 and beyond. For the 2009-10 school year, the multiple choice portion of the assessment will be a field test only and will not count toward a student’s score.
