What does the new MTV/OurStage partnership mean?
Operations around OurStage will remain largely unchanged in terms of how we do business. With the new partnership, however, there are lots of new opportunities. The three big initiatives developed with the MTV partnership are: • Needle in the Haystack (NITH) – NITH is a weekly editorial selection by the OurStage and MTV Music staff giving one high-ranking OurStage artist extra promotion and social media love. • Opportunities for OurStage artists to have their music selected for MTV Network’s on-air programming, such as Parental Control and the upcoming Get Hired. MTV may look to OurStage to discover new artists. In which case they will contact the artists directly and negotiate and terms of use on a per case basis. • An opportunity to be featured in MTV’s new web series $5 Cover (a new music-drama from MTV’s New Media division).
