What does the Shared Parental Responsibility Act do about false allegations in family law cases?
A new provision is introduced that requires a court to order a party to pay the costs of the other party to the proceedings, if the court is satisfied that the party has knowingly made a false allegation or statement in the proceedings. This applies to allegations and denials, in relation to children’s matters and other family law cases. This provision seeks to address concerns about knowingly false statements made in family law proceedings.
