What does the young man s decisions tell you about his relationship with the princess in The Lady, or the Tiger?

The young man’s decision could tell you alot of different things. He bases his decision on which door to pick solely upon the gesture of the princess. This could be taken as the young man placing all of his trust in the hands of the woman he loves, trusting that she will lead him to safety. The decision could also been seen as the young man not truly being in love with the princess at all, as he is ready and willing to abandon her and pledge the rest of his life to a woman that the princess herself despises. This is an aspect of the story the author encourages you to come to your own conclusion about with the very last line of the story; “And so I leave it to you: Which came out of the opened door – the lady, or the tiger?”

Hope I helped a little.

The young man’s decision tells you a lot of things about his relationship with the princess. It tells you that he trusts the princess blindly,he doesn’t even hesitate before going to the right,he believes that the princess is madly in love with him that she will go to any extent to save him.It also tells you that he is not that much in love with the princess, for him his life is more valuable than his love.He is not a Romeo,he doesn’t think that death is better than living without his beloved.
