What does “water resistant” mean?

Water-resistant watches can be submerged in water up to the rated depth, as they have airtight seals that keep the water out of the case. The material of the case and the type of crystal affect the recommended depth limit, which is set to reflect increases in water pressure. Some watches are also filled with silicon, which lessens the effects of pressure and allow the watch to be submerged to unimaginable depths. Practically, however, manufacturers never want you to submerge your watch fully in water for a long time. Before taking your watch for a swim, make sure the crown is in and be sure not to push any buttons while the watch is submerged, as this may break the seal and allow water into the case.

Camel active watches are water resistant to 100m, some special editions go to 200m. You will find the referring indication on the dial as well as on the caseback. In particular, the water resistance rating of a watch does not take into account the ability of the watch to STAY water resistant as it ages. Therefore, the water resistance of a watch cannot permanently be guaranteed. It may be affected by ageing of gaskets or by accidental shock to the crown or pusher. Do not under any circumstances open the watch by yourself. Make sure not to activate the time-setting crown and/or the pushers while the watch is under water and make sure that the crown has been pushed in or screwed down.
