What does WIC do, anyway, if child has a low iron level?
This baby is 5 months old. It should not, really, be soley on formula. According to AAP babies should be soley Breastfed or formula fed for the first 6 months of life. I believe WIC needs to incentivize breast feeding more. I know you can get tuna and carrots for yourself if you are breastfeeding but I think you should get even more b/c it is better and obviously much cheaper. It is horrid that low-income women are more likely to formula feed for no reason other than lack of education. Formula is expensive, Low income moms should get free education and free lactation consultant support to incentivize them to breastfeed.
