WHAT DOES WIC SUPPLY?
It varies from state to state. I’m in NY and when I was on WIC about 5 years ago, for myself as pregnant, and then as a nursing mother, and for my son as an infant up until he was 3 (though WIC supplies children til their 5…my status changed is all) and we were eligible for milk, juice, cheese, cereal, formula, carrots, tuna fish, peanut butter OR beans, farmers market checks for produce (once a year) and eggs. I think now they also offer potatoes. Call your local office for more info. They’re very nice and helpful.
Wic supplies my 11 month old with formula and cereal. My Daughter is 2 1/2. She gets cereal, milk, cheese, eggs, juice and peanut butter. Check with your state for your WIC program. Also, with your job you should be covered under the “Family Medical Leave Act” I would check more into that. You might not get paid but it secures your job.
