Cartographers collect, analyze and interpret geographic information in order to create accurate and clear representations of space, such as maps. Cartographers use spatial data, such as longitude and latitude, and non-spatial data, such as population and demographics, to create maps that can give both social and physical characteristics of an area. A typical Cartography education will include in a bachelor’s degree in Cartography, although degrees in other areas of study, such as geography, surveying or any other physical science are also acceptable.
