Just poke “vikings” into Google and you will find the Wikipedia page. That is pretty good, but I don’t think it tells you all you need. The Viking raids, the first of which was at Lindesfarn, had an incredible impact. Over the years they went much further than that. The Swedes went east into what is now Russia (Rus is the name of a Swedish tribe of Vikings, and basically settled much of Russia. The went down rivers and pulled their boats from one river to the over when they got too shallow to float. The Norwegians went along the Atlantic Coast of Europe, with multiple raids on coastal areas of the British Isles and into the Seine and up to Paris. To keep the Vikings from raiding Paris, a French King (and I will leave it up to you to find his name) gave them what is now called Normandy (after the Norsemen – the Vikings).
