What effect does the density of a liquid have on the buoyancy of an object?

To be buoyant you have to displace the same mass of liquid as you wiegh. So in water, that is 1g/cm3 or 1kg/L, a 1kg object would have to displace 1L of water to be buoyant. I hope that makes sence. It made a lot more to me when my teacher explaned it. Now your question, if the liquid your in isnt water and has a greater density than water, that is it weighs more than 1g/cm3, you would have to displace less of the liquid to be buoyant. If the water has a density less than 1g/cm3 you would have to displace more of the liquid to be buoyant.
