What else besides parvo could make my puppy vomit and have diarrhea?
I have a three month old labrador retriever puppy at home who is still alive and well after a similar experience with vomiting and diarrhea. I completely understand your worries, and your looking for some comfort and reassurance. My puppy, on her second night at home, had a vomiting jag in the middle of the night. The next day was Sunday and instead of plunking down $400 for an emergency vet visit, I watched her like a hawk — if she had thrown up again I would have taken her in immediately, despite the expense. But after a long nap she was chipper, ate a bit, and was drinking plenty of water. About three weeks ago, she threw up her water — she has spit up on occasion after drinking too much too fast — and had diarrhea. I called the vet and they said I could bring her in or withhold food and see how she was. I stayed home, withheld food, and she turned out to be just fine. I call my vet almost weekly with questions and I am probably overprotective as a single first-time dog owner. So
