What ever happened to investigative reporting?
Sadly, it seems that news organizations see investigative reporting as a “nuisance.” Investigative reporting involves a lot of hard work, a lot of research, a lot of time and therefore a lot of money. Most likely news organizations are thinking that investigative reporting is not profitable. And sometimes investigative reports could even spell trouble for them, especially if they touch on powerful companies and individuals. That’s why they opt to just report on Britney Spears and Brangelina. Those “stories” get the ratings and the sales anyway, so why bother with cumbersome investigative reporting?
