What exactly do chocolate eggs and bunnies have to do with easter?
Easter was an anglo-saxon pagan festival which celebrated the goddess of Eostre of fertility and rebirth and the emblems were the eggs and rabbits symbolizing rebirth. Biblically Jesus died on Nisan 14 of the Passover and raised on Nisan 16 but the tradition of the Church invented another occasion that was used from the pagan festival Eostre to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Hence the association with the name of the goddess, the emblems of that festival and Christ. This is not good as far of true Christianity since it is polluting Christ’s resurrection to coincide with a pagan deity when the Bible already has the real time of Christ’s resurrection in Nisan 16. But tradition of the church usurped the Bible on this one. Isaiah 52:11 Depart, depart, go out from there, Touch nothing unclean; Go out of the midst of her, purify yourselves, You who carry the vessels of the LORD.
